Finding God Moments in the Everyday: My Favorite Tools and Resources

Let’s be honest, life gets busy. Whether I’m running errands, folding what feels like an endless pile of laundry, or squeezing in a workout, it’s not always easy to carve out a dedicated devotional time. But here’s the thing—I’ve discovered that I don’t need to set aside a specific time to connect with God. Instead, I can invite Him into my day-to-day moments using tools and resources that help me find those “God moments” in the ordinary. Here are my go-to essentials that make this possible:

1. A Go-To Spotify Playlist for the Car

Music has a way of shifting the atmosphere, and nothing sets my heart on God like a carefully curated Spotify playlist. Whether I’m driving to the grocery store or heading to pick up the kids, I hit play on a playlist filled with worship songs that remind me of God’s promises. It turns my car into a sanctuary and helps me stay grounded in His truth—even during the chaos of school pick-up and grocery parking lots. I’ll share my playlist with you. I call it my “Back Pocket” playlist because I think it’s important that it is always handy.

2. Podcasts for Laundry Time

Call me a podcast girly—I absolutely love them! With the mountain of laundry I tackle on the daily, I’ve had plenty of time to listen to all the best ones out there. My all-time favorite is Jennie Allen’s Made for This Podcast. Her episodes are so relatable and packed with wisdom, perfect for matching that never-ending pile of socks.

And of course, I can’t forget"The GatherHood Podcast—shameless plug! Whether it’s leadership tips or conversations about faith, it’s a joy to listen to while staying productive. These podcasts aren’t just background noise; they’re like mini spiritual pep talks that leave me feeling encouraged and equipped.

3. Books About the Bible

I love diving into books that help me understand the Bible better. There’s something so enriching about hearing the perspectives of theologians and authors who provide context and depth to scripture. My tried-and-true favorite is anything by Joyce Meyer—her books are practical, uplifting, and full of truth.

If you’re looking for another great Christian author, check out Lisa Harper or Priscilla Shirer. Their writings are rooted in scripture and provide powerful insights. A recent favorite is Priscilla Shirer’s I Surrender All—it’s been such a motivator as I work towards levelling-up my heart from a Jesus-believer to a disciple.

4. Devotional Apps for On-the-Go Inspiration

Devotional apps are a lifesaver when life feels non-stop. My favorite is the Dwell App. Whether I’m exercising or taking a quick walk, I pop in my headphones and let scripture fill my heart. The way it brings the Word to life through audio feels so personal—it’s like having God’s Word read directly to me.

Another great option is the YouVersion Bible App, which offers daily reading plans and devotionals you can tailor to your season of life. These apps make it so easy to stay connected to God’s Word, no matter where you are or what you’re doing.

5. A Beautiful Bible

There’s nothing like holding a physical Bible in your hands, and my favorites are from She Reads Truth. Not only are they beautiful to look at, but they also use the Christian Standard Bible (CSB) translation, which is so easy to understand. I love using my Bible to look up verses that my books or apps reference—it helps me engage with scripture on a deeper level.

6. Verse Cards for Daily Encouragement

I’m all about keeping God’s Word visible throughout my day. Verse cards are an easy way to keep scripture front and center. I’ll put them on my car dashboard, my bathroom mirror, or even my fridge. Pro tip: Write your favorite verse using red lipstick on your mirror—it looks fabulous and serves as a powerful reminder of God’s truth every morning.

7. Support Through the SisterHood Membership

With so much information and content out there, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. That’s why I love the SisterHood membership. It’s a one-stop-shop for everything you need to dive deeper into your relationship with Christ, all while inviting others to join you on the journey.

For just $4.99, you get access to resources, tools, and community support that make it simple to grow your faith and pour into others. Whether you’re leading a group or joining one, the SisterHood membership is invaluable for fostering connection and intentionality.

These tools have truly transformed how I connect with God throughout my day. They’ve helped me realize that worship, prayer, and learning don’t have to exist in a neatly defined time slot. Instead, they can become woven into the fabric of my everyday life—turning the mundane into moments of divine connection.
